Guru Gobind Singh (5 January 1666 - 7 October 1708)

Guru Gobind singh was one of the ten preachers of the Sikh religion, the military brotherhood of the Sikhs.
He was born at Patna, Bihar, India. Guru ji was son of Guru tegh Bahadur, who gave his life to protect, religious freedom. He succeeded his father when he became a Guru at nine years of age. As a child, Guru gobind singh learned many languages including Sanskrit, Urdu, Hindi, Braj, Gurumukhi and Persian.
In September 1688,at the age of 19 Guru ji fought the battle of Bhangani against an allied forces of Bhim chand, Garwal king fateh khan and other local king of the sivalik hills. Guru came out victorious. A description of the battle can be found in Bichitra Natak is a religiou text attributed to Guru ji.
At the gathering of 1699, Guru ji founded the Khalsa Vani " Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh. " He named all his followers with the title Singh, meaning Lion. He also founded the principal of Khalsa Or The five "K" s. These include Kesh or hair, Comb, Kara or Bracelet, Knee length or kacchera and kripan.
After Mughal leder Aurangzeb was later famously named as Zafarnama or the Epistle of Victory, reminding him of the misdeed the Mughal had done of the Sikhs. He fought against the Mughal later in battle of Musktsarin 1705.
After Aurangzeb's death no longer remind an adversary to the Mughals. The next Mughal emperor, Bahadur shah was influenced by wazir Khan, Nawab of Sirhind of attack the Sikhs community. The Guru ji killed Jamshed, the attacker with his sword, while other Sikh brothers kill Beg. He left his bodily form and on October 7 in 1708.
